Dall-E is an image generator similar to Mid Journey that produces results based on the words of your choice. According to their website, the software has a diverse set of capabilities such as combining unrelated objects in plausible ways, transforming existing images and rendering text. We saw a few videos on YouTube were people simply state what they want from the image to be removed, or changing the depth of field, colours, or generating different images based on the one they had, all with a few words. Think of it as a text command Photoshop.

Besides being able to create photorealistic images, the software can also imitate the style of specific artists, cameras or periods in art. The possibilities are endless and according to forums, everybody wants to be part of their waiting list. Yes, that's right, there's a waiting list in place. But the intelligence of Dall-E is quite impressive so it's worth the waiting. Imagine you have a very good image that somebody accidentally or on purpose, photobombed. You don't have to go through the struggles of brushing it out in Photoshop, and making the gap match with the rest of it. The software removes the shadows and matches everything in seconds, without further adjustments being necessary.

As an artist you can use it to create your own artworks, create your own mood boards from scratch or, the best part, envision the project you want before putting the work into it. As a photographer you can correct mistakes, you don't have to rely on props as much or spend money on certain cameras. Why? Because it can add whatever you want in the image as well, and it can also edit it as you wish. Imagine you shoot digital but you want it to look like a specific film. It will do it, in seconds. How cool is that? You can also use artworks or masterpieces you like to generate different variations inspired by the original. You can see whatever you want made by the hand of Warhol or see Beyonce painted by the painter you love.

Compared to its competition, Dall-E gives you more control over the process and provides more accurate results. Randomness is not much part of the process so you can rely on it. YouTubers that got firsthand access to it show how easy it is to 'communicate' to the program what you want, and how precise the results are. When it comes to faces, compared to other AI programs, the faces are more symmetrical, much closer to reality. But to fix those mistakes you would yet again end up using Photoshop.
